Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Information Security Risk Officer. Primary Function: Responsible for overseeing and reporting on the management and mitigation of information security risk across the Credit Union. Assess, develop and implement information security strategy, initiatives, procedures, and governing policies. The Information Security Risk Officer leverages data, technical and business knowledge to
manage and mitigate the Credit Union's information security risks by planning and championing the execution of information security initiatives aimed at delivering value to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the ongoing information security initiatives and improvements, development, implementation and maintenance of information security for the Credit Union. Serve as Information Security subject matter expert in matters of policy.
  • Provide guidance and advocacy regarding the prioritization of Credit Union investments that impact information security. Monitors information security trends internal and external to the Credit Union and keeps leadership informed about information security.
  • Advise management on risk issues related to information security and recommend actions in support of the Credit Union’s wider risk management and compliance programs.
  • Adhere to, oversee, monitor and enforce enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to information security activities.
  • Provide support for evaluating and reviewing information security initiatives, identifying risks and red flags and recommending solutions to mitigate the same.
  • Evaluate and monitor Credit Union information systems to ensure adherence to the Credit Union’s Information Security Standards and Procedures.
  • Assist in the development of the Credit Union’s information security risk appetite and monitor Key Risk Indicators against such risk appetite. Present at Risk Management Committee and related meetings communicating key trends, metrics and opportunities for improving the information security profile of the Credit Union.
  • Supports the Credit Union’s compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, coordinates with the AVP, Information Security Officer and makes recommendations to and Senior Management, as appropriate.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 Years experience within the financial services industry and familiarity with regulations applicable to financial services companies required.
  • Minimum 5 Years of project management experience and quality and/or process improvement background required.
  • Minimum 5 Years experience with security risk management frameworks and standards such as PCI, NIST, ISO 2700/27002, CIS Critical Security Controls, COBIT or COSO preferred.
  • Minimum 5 Years experience with Key Risk Indicators and Technology Risk reporting preferred.
  • Security Certification (i.e. SANS, CISSP, CISA, CRISC) preferred.
